2015 Hall of Fame Inductee Craig Carson is new Board Director

New Antioch Sports Legends Hall of Fame, Inc Board Director, Craig Carson

The Antioch Sports Legends Hall of Fame, Inc is proud to announce, 2015 Hall of Fame inductee, Craig Carson as a new member of our Board of Directors. Carson fills Sue Tiernan’s vacant seat, she has moved out of the area.  

Carson had a 29-year career as a teacher at Antioch and Deer Valley High schools and was a highly successful swimming and water polo coach. Coaching at Antioch from 1979 to 1988 and from 1992 to 1995, the Panthers were 115-37-2, winning a DVAL Boys championship in 1987.  Carson also coached the girls from 1984 to 1988 and from 1992 to 1995. In 1993 the girls team won the BVAL Championship.

Leaving Antioch, he spent another 7 years teaching and 10 years coaching swimming and water polo teams at Heritage High School. For more on Carson’s outstanding coaching career click here.  

Carson, now retired from teaching, is still coaching and is an active volunteer. He volunteers for the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association and is one of 5 high school swimming coaches awarded the “Outstanding Service” award in 2020. He is also currently serving on the North Coast Section Swimming Committee, the Liberty Union High School District Hall of Fame committee and on the Antioch Sports Legends Research and Recognition Committee.
